Biography
  • Elected to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals without opposition
  • Served as Judge in Division E, 24th Judicial District Court, Jefferson Parish for six years.
  • Graduated from the LSU Law Center where he was awarded a Rotary Foundation Scholarship, was chosen for the Louisiana Law Review thanks to outstanding grades, and was inducted into the Order of the Coif, an honor society reserved for the top ten percent of his class.
  • In 1989 after working in the New Orleans law office of Liskow & Lewis, Greg joined the Louisiana Attorney General's Office. From here he went on to became an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana prosecuting Federal criminal cases, many involving public corruption.
  • He has acted as a Division Supervisor, Ethics Officer, Trial Advocacy Instructor for the Department of Justice, and was Grand Jury Coordinator for the Eastern District.
  • Greg has received commendations for his work from the U.S. Attorney General, the F.B.I. and the Chief Postal Inspector.
  • Judge Guidry is President of the John C. Boutall American Inn of Court, President of the Fifth Circuit Judges Association and is a member of the Louisiana Bar Foundation.
  • He has completed all course work for the M.A. program sponsored by the National Judicial College and is a frequent lecturer for the Louisiana Judicial College, the Louisiana State Bar Association and the New Orleans chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
